The most prestigious and exciting freshwater fishing event in North West Queensland is back once again with three days of non-stop fishing action! The 2010 Xstrata Mount Isa Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic will be held from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st October 2010 at Black Rock, Lake Moondarra, located 15 kilometres North of Mount Isa.
Hosted by the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group, this year will see a record prize pool, including a whopping $45,000 up for grabs for the lucky angler who snags the Mount Isa Water Board Tagged Barra.
And that's just in the water - throw in:
- celebrity guests Andrew Ettingshausen "ET" and Michael Guest live and in person filming their hit television show Escape with ET,
- the A.R.T Yamaha Supertank part of the Australian Travelling Fishing Show - the biggest and the best portable interactive show in Australia. Featuring a 21 metre long, five metre high glass fish tank with live fish. Regular shows will be conducted over the weekend including information on 4WD off road safety, eye safety such as which glasses are best under different conditions, boat safety, knife sharpening, motor maintenance, holiday destinations and of course lure fishing,
- the Huddys Mining Services Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday night,
- the all new Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce Dragon Boat Regatta on Saturday afternoon at Transport Bay, featuring local business’s and the community competing for bragging rights in their one of a kind home made dragon boats,
The Buffs Club Beach Volleyball Competition overlooking the shores of Transport Bay,- yabbie races,
- casting competitions,
- live entertainment,
- activities for the kids,
- trade exhibits,
- food, drinks and bar facilities, and
you have got three days of non-stop fun for all the family.
